SORRY its been a long time since my last update, was busy with sch work
ok, lets get back to astro matters. There is 2 issues i would like to address for this post.
1st-Astro member meeting
“Please take note that there will be a COMPULSORY meeting this Friday (16/01/09), 6.30pm at P703 FOR ALL ASTRO MEMBERS.”
2nd- Annular Solar Eclipse 2009 As some of us might know, there will be an annular Eclipse on the 26th Jan 2009 It is visible across parts of Indonesia. Partially visible in Singapore. At maximum eclipse, approximately 80% of the sun will be covered by the New Moon. So for those who is interested in the Eclipse, below is the time that i had found out.
Eclipse begins: 1630hrs Max Eclipse: 1749hrs Eclipse ends: 1858hrs
All times refer specifically to SIngapore time (Time zone:GMT +8hrs). Times will be different for countries located in other time zone.

The Nanyang Polytechnic Astronomy Club (NASTRO) is an astronomy interest group that promotes interest among students on astronomy by organising activities and events that are related to astronomy. Our activities keep our members and students informed about the latest happenings and discoveries on astronomy around the world.
Astronomy is gradually becoming a popular field of study in Singapore. The National University of Singapore has started a course on Astronomical Studies and building an observatory for their own which amounts to tens of millions of dollars. Even students of Primary and Secondary schools are involved actively in the many Astronomical Events held in Singapore each year.
